Learn to play like Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran is an English singer-songwriter gifted with a remarkable sense of rhythm. He uses many modern percussive techniques in his guitar playing, effectively turning his guitar into a drum kit. We should also pay attention to his chord progressions. There are certain reasons why his songs sound distinctive. Looking closely, we uncover the frequent use of first inversion major chords across his work. That means that the third (major or minor) tone is played as lowest note. These can be easily identified by a slash in the chord symbol. Ed Sheeran also often keeps a chiming high note ringing throughout his entire chord progressions.
